About Pregnancy PA
Who are the Pregnancy PA programmes for?
Our programmes are designed for women during pregnancy, postpartum recovery and beyond. Whether you're preparing for birth, recovering from a vaginal or C-section birth, managing symptoms such as leaking or prolapse, or simply wanting to feel stronger and more confident in your body, there's a programme to support you.
Who creates the programmes?
All Pregnancy PA programmes are created by Laura Williams, a Chartered Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, Pre & Postnatal Exercise Specialist, Athlete and mum. Every programme is built around evidence based rehabilitation, pelvic floor health and safe strength training.
Do I need to be local to work with you?
No. Pregnancy PA is an online coaching and education platform, meaning women can access support from anywhere in the UK and worldwide.
Pregnancy Questions
Can I exercise during pregnancy?
In most cases, yes. Exercise during pregnancy offers significant benefits for both mum and baby. The key is ensuring the right type, intensity and progression for your stage of pregnancy and individual needs.
Can I start exercising if I wasn't active before pregnancy?
Absolutely. Pregnancy is not too late to begin moving your body. The focus should be on building strength, confidence and fitness safely with appropriate guidance.
Will exercise harm my baby?
For most healthy pregnancies, exercise is safe and encouraged. Programmes should be adapted to your trimester, symptoms and medical history.
Postpartum Recovery Questions
When can I start exercising after birth?
Recovery starts immediately after birth with breathing exercises, pelvic floor rehabilitation and gentle movement. Return to structured exercise depends on your delivery, healing and symptoms.
I've had a C-section. Can I still join?
Absolutely. As a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and C-section mum myself, C-section recovery is one of my specialist areas. In fact, I have a specialist programme for you, 'Scar & Strength Recovery Method™.'
Do I need to wait until my six week GP check?
No. Early recovery starts long before six weeks. Gentle breathing, pelvic floor exercises and movement can often begin much sooner, depending on your individual circumstances.
Pelvic Floor & Core Questions
Will these programmes help with leaking?
Many women experience leaking during pregnancy and postpartum. The programmes include pelvic floor rehabilitation and strategies to help improve symptoms, although individual assessment may sometimes be recommended.
I have diastasis recti. Can I still exercise?
Yes. Diastasis recti does not mean you should avoid exercise. The right exercises can help improve core function, strength and confidence. The 'Diastasis Repair System™' will be the best choice for you.
I have prolapse symptoms. Can I join?
Yes. Programmes are designed to be prolapse aware and focus on symptom management, strength building and pressure management strategies. If you would like to discuss further, please book a free consultation via the link below.
